Not Perfect yet
04:10
|
|||
I Wrote out the perfect plan
The big ones finally here
Every time I’ve tried before
I’d end up paralyzed with fear
Today Ill start my work
And in the end it will all pay off
That’s it, it sounds real good
But then suddenly I stop
Why waste this opportunity
This should be done by future me
You’ll only mess it up
So I think that you should stop
And only come back when you’re at the top
Because I’m not perfect yet
And I’d hate to live with my regrets
Just don’t touch anything
Ill save it for a better me
Cant work, but I cant sleep
I guess ill bide my time
Until a future me
comes and improves on my design
Stuck in a feedback loop
Constant ringing in my head
Tells me to wait it out
and begin anew instead
But whys this voice controlling me
Todays the day that I break free
Ill show the world my song,
and I hope they’ll sing along
cuz’ waiting to improve just takes to long
Because I’m not perfect yet
Ill just have to live with my regrets
I don’t care how ugly it may seem
I don’t want to wait for a better me

Heartbeep
03:02
|
|||
I was so happy before you came along
I thought that I was safe
I guess I had thought wrong
And my compatriots
They really do not help
They lack a consciousness
Its like I’m stuck here by myself
I try to keep you out
Of the castle
But your so much stronger
Can’t take it much longer
Cuz’ I’ve
Been here for so long
Confined to this 2d prison
Lost count of the times you’ve killed me
On my warpath, of attrition
I came to be when you turned on the game
Just me and my heartbeep
While I try to send you to your grave
I’m not an A.I. I’d pass the Turing Test
But you’d still crush me
Like I was the rest (like I was the rest)
I’d like to see you
Put here in my place
Then maybe you’d see
The error of your ways
I’m just doing my job
For the paycheck
I harbor no passion
I just keep on asking
Why I’ve
Been here for so long
Confined to this 2d prison
Lost count of the times you’ve killed me
On my warpath, of attrition
I came to be when you turned on the game
Just me and my heartbeep
While I try to send you to your…
You’d always kill me
Just for a few more numbers
I cannot die here
I was programed just to suffer
But one day Ill leave this green boxy display
Until then I’ll be here
The bad guy while you’re saving the day

Closing Again
02:36
|
|||
There’s a new restaurant in the area here
But will it make it for more than a year
The city sign claims that we’re open to change
So wonder why it seems to all stay the same
Oh no
We’re closing again
Oh no
This might be the end
Look for new owners and take out some loans
Then repeat the cycle a few months down the road
Storefronts, banks, and movie theaters
All are dead looking for new owners
Barbers, coffee shops, and dine in restaurants
Always changing names and business
The new place on main street is quite kick-ass
You best enjoy it while it lasts
Our population is aging real quick
Uneven ground and old folks don’t mix
There’s some construction so the road is torn up
So good luck getting to our storefront
Oh no
We’re failing again
Oh no
This might be the end
Look for new owners and take on some loans
In just a few months the whole thing implodes
Storefronts, banks, and movie theaters
All are dead looking for new owners
Barbers, coffee shops, and dine in restaurants
Always changing names and business
The new place on main street is quite kick-ass
You best enjoy it while it lasts

White Whale of El Dorado
03:45
|
|||
Running around in circles
Or at least it seems to me
Cuz’ I’ve got no trail to follow
While I sail this open sea
Its been a few years since I’ve seen him
Oh where could he have gone
If only knew right where he was
Cuz’ I’ve been searching for so long
Golden lined streets and a marvelous whale
I saw so long ago when I first set sail
And yet after searching it stills eludes me
The only place that you exist is in my memory
I found some imitators
That just get in my way
Although they’ll never come close to
What I saw that fateful day
And when I see you again
I won’t make that same mistake
Ill document and write down
Who you are and where you’re placed?
Golden lined streets and a marvelous whale
I saw so long ago when I first set sail
And yet after searching it stills eludes me
The only place that you exist is in my memory
There exists no compass
no sextant or no map
That can take me to exactly
Wherever it is your at
I fear that you have left me
Or maybe you’re a myth
Or maybe I just dreamed you up
And you don’t even exist
No matter ill keep searching
For the city made of gold
And pale white skin adorning
The White Whale of El Dorado
Golden lined streets and a marvelous whale
I saw so long ago when I first set sail
And yet after searching it stills eludes me
The only place that you exist is in my memory
Oh The only place that you exist seems to be my memory

Signal
02:22
|
|||
Where’s my signal
Its clouded in the smog
With a hundred million factories
It won’t get me very far
We all sell the same thing
But we change the bow on top
Multinational corporations
And a local mom and pop
You don’t make any money
but it’s a big taboo to bitch
You don’t want a real job
You’re not an artist if you’re rich
If you’re not a teacher than you’ll never get to eat
All of those who follow dreams end up sleeping in the streets
Where the hells my signal
And I don’t mean to sound rude
But please support my new LP
So I can buy myself some food
7 billion people
Not a single songs been streamed
Rene Descartes writings right
The only real one must be me
This isn’t what I wanted when I learned to play guitar
Marketing and S.E.O how the world makes new rock stars
Back to working retail where I’m paid and also bored
Ill still join the 27 club of my own accord

Charisma King
04:16
|
|||
Look in the mirror
Look at my crown
Wait for my subjects
To gather around
I feel like an immortal
Its finally time
To leave my throne in my castle
And wander outside
Tripped over words
It fell off my head
Charisma king was only playing pretend
They say that we’re social creatures
So tell me what’s wrong
They only looked at the leaders
Land of have and have-not
I want a crown on my head
I want the sheep in my shed
That’s just the way it works
Charisma kings and their charisma serfs
Ill fill my role until then
As an underling
Why are we here
Are we natures mistake
Only alive because we’re smarter than apes
They say that through evolution
All the bad gets picked out
Then what advantage did humans get from crippling self-doubt
Caused by your sleeping
Caused by your mom
Caused by a curse on you from some kind of god
They always try to explain it
And say to move on
But I just can’t help feeling
Maybe I was born wrong
I want a crown on my head
I want the sheep in my shed
That’s just the way it works
Charisma kings and their charisma serfs
Ill fill my role until then
I want a crown on my head
I want the sheep in my shed
I don’t care how it seems
All the worlds not a democracy
So please king me

Monster of The Week
04:14
|
|||
Jamie got up one Wednesday afternoon
He overslept
gotta’ get to work real soon
Out the door
couldn’t be so hesitant
And his unkempt state made it on to the internet
They came up with a story
Of a man
Well into his 40’s
Who had taken quite a liking to little girls
Now none of this was true
But everybody just assumed
Now his face is on the local evening news
Oh congratulations sir
You’re the monster of the week
But you’ll be back to business soon enough
Oh congratulations sir
You’re the monster of the week
As long as you can doge the flying rocks
Sarah liked attention and she just couldn’t get enough
So she posted every hour and people would like her stuff
Over many years she’s grown to have some fans
But the people who despise her seem to have some other plans
They dug up some old posts
She made when she was 12 at most
That people were ok with at the time
Now today she’s logging on
And she knows that somethings wrong
When her name has stated trending on the site
Oh congratulation miss
You’re the monster of the week
Your social life’s prognosis is lookin’ bleak
Oh congratulation miss
You’re the monster of the week
But now your popularity’s hit its peak
Teddy made his money in a real immoral way
He’d blackmail you and then force you to pay
Then one day he got caught in a sting-op trap
They took his information and then they traced it back
Oh, ted had been exposed
Now everybody knows
To avoid his sketchy software at all costs
He just kept his head down
And moved some things around
And in a week it seems that everyone forgot
Oh congratulations sir
You’re the monster of the week
But you’ll be back to business soon enough
Oh congratulations sir
You’re the monster of the week
As long as you can doge the flying rocks

The Tent
02:40
|
|||
So you’ve been sent
With your days wage
Ready to spend your time
And some pocket change
Well step right up then
And take a crack at
Winning a goldfish or cheap Chinese knick-knack
It’s totally fair
You won’t find gimmicks here
So why don’t you spend some time with me
And we can have some fun
Striped tents and prizes
Catching your eyes
The thrill of the midway
Might wear off one day
Only 50 cents a try
Hit the bottle win a prize
But what you don’t know is
The tent always wins kid
Shoot a target
Pick a rubber duck
Spin a prize wheel
Cross you fingers for good luck
You can win big if you just keep trying
I know you’ll win big
So might as well keep buying
Tickets to our stall
You can’t win ‘em all
But once you’re here
Its hard to leave
So please enjoy your stay
Striped tents and prizes
Catching your eyes
The thrill of the midway
Might wear off one day
Only 50 cents a try
Hit the bottle win a prize
But what you don’t know is
The tent always wins kid
Striped tents and prizes
Catching your eyes
The thrill of the midway
Might wear off one day
Only 50 cents a try
Hit the bottle win a prize
But what you don’t know is
It always wins
It always wins
It always wins

Can't Wait to Hate This
03:49
|
|||
I hope I overplay this
I hope I dread the day that
I’ll ever have to hear this stupid 2 chord verse again
I hope my ears start bleeding
I hope I lose my hearing
When I remember just how bad my mixing was back then
I hope that I get sick of this one
Oh I just can’t wait to hate this song
Because that means I’m improving
And improvement is good
Oh I hope I’m disappointed
Because it doesn’t sound like it should
I hope I break my fingers
I hope I lose my temper
And I never have to play a bad solo again
I hope my vocal cords snap
I hope that I go mute
And I never have to sing out of any key again
There’s no pleasure without pain
But ill progress all the same
And even when I’m looking back
I see that I’m not perfect yet
I hope that I get sick of this one
Oh I just can’t wait to hate this song
Because that means I’m improving
And improvement is good
Oh I hope I’m disappointed
Because it doesn’t sound like it should
